MORE BEERS BEING BOUGHT THAN BOOKS BEING BORROWED.
what of the planet?
what of our children’s future?
what of our souls?
Do you want your culture to be respect? Respect others culture.
Allow me to point this out— Our Deaf community, its culture, and its language is diminishing. We sailed from Europe, to establish new world. In that transition, we slaughtered The First People and their children and told them their spiritual beliefs was savage and wrong.
IF we began to respect their spiritual beliefs in first place, all of our communities of races wouldn’t be so destructive towards each other.
It is time to take responsibility by start respecting other cultures and do not speak of superior experiences or knowledge (An example, a white person teaching natives children, white tour guide giving a tour for a group of black people, white person telling deaf children they need a cochlear implant).
“I did a little background work in the origin of the word and the way I got it from a couple of grandfathers and ancestors was the word Chicano is derived from an old Aztec word meaning rebel and…the Spaniards used the word Chicano to refer to the Aztecs who never gave up the battle. In other words, after the Spanish conquest, there was a group of Aztecs who kept fighting the Spaniards, and they were referred to as the rebels or the Chicanos…. So even today, now, the word Chicano could be considered as rebel.”
